Stoneware Baking Sheets and Baking StonesFor cooking and baking, there is nothing like stoneware bakeware. This type of bakeware is unrivaled in terms of a pizza stone or baking sheet. Stoneware is it's own type of clay and can be used in the oven up to 450 degrees. My pieces can be either glazed or unglazed. The unglazed pieces bake much better, but do look a little worse for wear with time. A glazed piece will hold it's look, but not brown as well. The choice on that is yours! You can have it either way and there is no difference in price. The bakeware is dishwasher safe and you may use soap to wash the products produced by my husband and I. One of our favorite things to bake on a baking stone is Cream Cheese Sausage Balls. They are one of our favorites to have at parties or on a lazy Sunday morning.
The long thin baking stone listed below came from a need arising from a new dual fuel double oven stove we bought a year or so ago. The small side of the oven came with a toaster oven sized broiler pan and nothing that would utilize the full size of the oven being about 18" long and 8 1/2" wide. This is the perfect size stone for that small oven and we use it all the time for everything from a few chicken tenders, to garlic bread and French bread pizzas.
After wanting to make our own pizzas at home, we found a need for a couple pizza stones. We have two different stones. One is a flat stone with no edges or rim, it's a perfectly flat stone and is the most common one we sell. The other two are different sizes and are geared for deep dish pizzas. Pizza crust can be purchased at most large grocery stores or from your favorite pizzeria. You may also use the round flat pizza stone for baking a purchased ready made pizza or frozen pizza, as long as you remember to keep the oven cold and the stone cold when you put your frozen pizza in the oven.
